Breakfast Patrol Fly-in

    Breakfast Patrol Fly-in Rules

Win a free breakfast by approaching Sturgate Airfield without being spotted.

The aim is to arrive within 2 miles of Sturgate without being spotted by the Lincoln Aero Club patrolling aircraft.

Invading aircraft should monitor Sturgate Radio 130.300MHz when within a 5 mile radius of Sturgate or as soon as practical if receiving a LARS service from Waddington.

At 2 miles from the airfield invaders should contact Sturgate Radio for airfield information and position to join the circuit overhead at 1500 feet QFE.

If the defending aircraft spots an invading aircraft, the defending aircraft will announce over the radio, the location and brief description of the spotted aircraft. No attempt will be made by the defending aircraft to approach the invading aircraft to read registration letters.

The breakfast patrol will run from 09:30 until 12:00. The kitchen will serve breakfasts until 12:30.

There will be no landing fee.

In the event of poor weather, visitors by air or car are welcome. Lincoln Aero Club will not patrol the area if the visibility is, or is forecast to be, less than 8Km or the cloud base is less than 1500 feet as extrapolated from the Humberside, Waddington and Doncaster Metars and TAFs.

All the crew and passengers of successful invading aircraft will be issued with a free breakfast voucher upon signing-in.

Visiting crew may telephone Lincoln Aero Club for a briefing on 01427 838305. This number will be manned from 08:30 on the morning of the breakfast patrol.
